Our thoughts have been with you the past few days as you have remembered and celebrated Aunt Isabel's life. We have many fond memories of time spent with her. A chance to spend a day at the farm visiting in her kitchen was always a special treat. Aunt Isabel was always very warm, gracious, and interested in what was going on in our lives. We will miss her.

I love reading about the story Dan Reid had posted. It sure stilred my memory of Mrs. Isabel Frey ! Also remember her teaching about God in school as well as the lessons of love in church . I hadn't seen her in years and then I.was fortunate enough to see her again and retouch our lives as I work in the home that she resided ! I will miss seeing her beautiful face but know that she is reaping the wonderful rewards of meeting our Lord!! God Bless the family in this time!

I knew Isabel from the time I could toddle. I grew up enjoying her warm, steady influence at the old Missionary Church on Elm Street in Aylmer. I have vivid memories of her filling in for David Sapelak on the organ at church, her conducting choir, hosting Wednesday night bible study at their old home, hosting youth gatherings at their "new" home. Imagine my surprise and delight upon arriving at Davenport in grade 7 to discover that she was a teacher. I was privileged to be in one of the very last art classes she taught before retiring from teaching. I am certain that somewhere someone still has one of the macrame plant hangers she had us make. Her flower beds, which she took such pains with, made driving out of town heading west a visual delight. We were blessed to have her provide the flower arrangements at our wedding and still enjoy her orginal artwork that hangs proudly in our home.
I remember the feeling of my jaw dropping when she first appeared at church with her perrenial long-braid bun gone in place of a youthful short cut and style. She happily joined in on organ with our worship team that was playing music accompanied by electric guitar and drums, but always with helpful hints for engaging the congregation and making sure that we didn't forget about hymns in the headlong rush towards contemporary choruses. She always seemed up for fun and had a great sense of humour. I will never forget her incredible skill on the crokinole board - she just quietly and humbly knocked her opponents completely off the board.
We rejoice with her that she is enjoying her reward in eternity. All of us who knew her were better for it. She and the whole Frey family have left a permanent and rich legacy in this town. We will miss her for now! We look forward to seeing her again.

Herbert Frey knocked on our front door in 1988 to welcome us to the neighbourhood and offer us a basket of his home grown vegetables. I met Mrs. Frey a short time later, and she introduced me to her faith and offered to give me Bible Study lessons.
It was the beginning of many enchanted and very interesting discussions, and I am forever grateful for having met both Mr. and Mrs. Frey, as well as their children and grandchildren. I am very saddened by her passing, but I know that she is enjoying the company of Jesus and Herbert right now!
