I had several casual meetings with Roy over the course of my banking career after returning to Southwestern Ontario from British Columbia in the early 2000's. Roy was always a gentleman with a quiet, sincere, and humble demeanor. It was a pleasure to have known Roy. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family.

We are very sorry to hear of the passing of your father. Since our son Nathan and Roy Jr. played hockey together for many years we had the privilege of associating with him three of four times a week over several years. Not once did we ever hear a negative word from Roy, which is kind of rare in the hockey world. He also was very generous with the kids. The importance of family in his life was quite obvious. He will be remembered as a classy gentleman.
