I was so sorry to find out about the passing of Liz...she was a wonderful woman! I have some great memories of visits to Canada and all the activities we did together. My most favorite memory of Liz was the last visit we made to Canada in 1999 to attend John Croft' funeral. We stayed with Liz and got to visit and catch up with her on all the family happenings. I miss the family that has gone before but I know that they are waiting for us to join them when our time comes. I know Liz is catching up with my Mom and Dad and I am sure they have lots to talk about. My best to my Canadian cousins...please keep in touch if you can!
Love,
Cindy

For Liz I've been thinking about all of you these last few days. It is so ironic that I can't be with you because I had to send my passport in to be renewed so that I can come up to visit and the timing was sooooo bad! When I think of Liz - and I always think of her as "Liz" because that's what we all called her - I just can't help but think of the passage from I Corinthians. Love is patient, love is kind; love is not envious or boastful or arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth. It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. That I think is a perfect description of Elizabeth Croft Schned. She was such a kind and gentle soul. She never wanted to hurt anyone's feelings or make anyone angry. My heart is just too full and I cannot seem to say everything I would like about the many memories I have. Memories of the trips back and forth before the days of needing passports. Memories of weddings, picnics, confirmations, reunions, wonderful meals and most of all the memory of the constant presence of those who loved us. There's a reason why there are so many Johns and Elizabeths and Catherines (or variations of those names) in our family. It's because we want these children to whom we give their names, to grow up like them - to be the kind and loving people that they were. I'd like to close with the words of a hymn that was sung at my mother's funeral in August. It was so right for her and it is so right for Liz. We loved her so. May angels lead with gentle hand, your soul into the promised land, Where saints and martyrs welcome in, and perfect rest and peace begin. From earthly toils and sins release your servant, Lord, to go in peace; Whose eyes have seen salvation come; the Light of Light, our heavenly home. Lord, grant your perfect peace and rest to our dear friend, your servant blest; Delivered out from mortal strife, reborn to your abundant life.

To my Canadian cousins, So sorry to hear about Aunt Liz she will be missed. I always loved my visits to Canada growing up. Our first stop was always a visit to Aunt Liz. Where she was waiting with a big hug and of course a snack. I was so glad that my mom and I got to bring my step daughter and son up to visit the other year. We had a nice picnic at her house. I will miss Aunt Liz she was such a wonderful person. Love and hugs from Pa. Love Cathy and family

Dear David and Pat, Peter and Mary, Ernie and Jennifer and families; I was deeply saddened to read of your loss. Your Mom/Grandmother Liz was a kind and much-loved person, not only to you her family, but also to those of us who knew her as a friend. I am presently away from home looking after things for my son William and his wife Debbie while they are in England for her father's funeral. For that reason, I cannot be there to extend my condolences in person and to attend the service honoring your Mom's life. Please accept my heartfelt sympathies. Kathleen
