Obituary of Joseph Prendergast

Prendergast, Joseph Gerard of Aylmer passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Monday, September 23, 2013 in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Pauline (Zimmer) Prendergast. Dear father of Sharon Prendergast-O'Neill (Michael), Donald Prendergast (Elizabeth), Mary Jane Prendergast, Peter Prendergast, Judy Savill (John) and Helen Jewell (Wayne). Cherished grandfather of Colleen, Sean, Patrick, Christopher, Alison, Jacqui, Sean, Catherine, and Sasha. Brother of Mary White (Leo), Margaret Jacyno and predeceased by his brothers Bill, Frank, Jerry, John, Edward, Pat, Tim and his sister Catherine Walzak. Born in Mitchell, Ontario on April 8, 1923, son of the late William and Mary Ellen (Connolly) Prendergast. Joe was a retired tobacco farmer, a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He had also been a trustee on the Elgin County Catholic School Board. Family and friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday, September 26 from 2-4 & 7-8:15 pm with prayers at 8:15. The Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Friday, September 27, 2013 at 1:00 pm, followed by internment at the Queen of Peace Cemetery.
