Obituary of Vera Cathers

Cathers, Vera, at Woodstock Hospital on Saturday, January 21, 2012. Vera Greta Cathers of North Bay and formerly Aylmer at the age of 69 years. Beloved wife of Fred Cathers. Dear mother of Carrie Lee Kenny and husband Tyson of Beachville and Dr. Christopher Cathers and wife Kim of North Bay. Vera cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren Noah and Jaxon Cathers, Grayson and Rachel Kenny. Dear daughter of Rene VanAcker of Aylmer and the late Rachel VanAcker. Sister of Larry VanAcker and wife Marilyn of Aylmer. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Vera was born on January 4, 1943 in Germany and lived most of her life in Aylmer and area. She was the former owner of the Travel Place in Aylmer, she served on the Aylmer Fair Board and was a member of the Vienna Lioness. Vera greatest love was spending time with her family and friends at their cottage in Port Loring. Vera enjoyed travelling, cooking, knitting, reading and ball room dancing. In keeping with Vera's wishes cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate Vera's life will be held at H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer (519-773-8400) on Saturday, January 28 at 11:00a.m. with Visitation one hour prior.
