Obituary of Les Shackelton

Leslie James Shackelton, of Springfield, Ontario passed away peacefully on August 14, 2024 in his 100th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Dorothy (Hunter) Shackelton (2002), son Doug (2004), brothers Carmen (2006), Kenneth (2012), sister Vera Parsons (2000) and infant great-grandson Owen (2006).  Survived by son John (Ronee), daughter-in-law Deb, daughter Gwen Tracey (Bob) and son Gary (Kim).  He will be missed by his grandchildren Michael (Jenn), Jeffrey (Lesley), Jason (Angela), Cameron (Stacey) Jay, Wendy, Tyler (Julie), Mark (Kelsey), Ashlan (Mark), Mallory (Joe), Caylee (Brad) and Whitney (Evan).  Cherished great-grandpa to 25 great-grandchildren between the age of 7 months and 21. Born in Springfield, Ontario on February 25, 1925 son of the late John and Ruby(Abbott) Shackelton.  Les was the founder of Shackelton Auctions.  He loved people and enjoyed family and community.

Visitation will be held at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, August 19, 2024 at 11:00 am. Interment, Springfield Cemetery.
