Funk, Elsie of Springfield passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, July 26, 2024 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of Ernest Funk. Dear mother of Gloria Fehr(Randy) of Aylmer, Grace Koetke(Scott) of St. Thomas and Gladys Funk(Jeff Darling) of London. Loving grandmother of Tiffany(Dave), Brittany, Jordan, Kailey, Olivia, Sophia, Julien and Anikka. Sister of Menno Kroeker(Dorothy), Peter Kroeker(Anne), Lorne Kroeker(Helen), Ron Kroeker(Wendy) and Erna Friesen(Hank). She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers Henry, Jake, Ed, Willy and sisters Mary and Martha.  Born in Morris, Manitoba on August 26, 1934, daughter of the late Peter and Anna(Klassen) Kroeker. Elsie was a missionary and nurse in Paraguay and Pelly, Saskatchewan for many years, later moving to Aylmer in 2006. Elsie ‘adopted’ many people into her home that she welcomed and treated as family. Elsie had a genuine heart for others. Visitation will be held at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Wednesday from 6-8:00p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Straffordville E.M.C. on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery.
