Obituary of Joan Buchner

Buchner, Joan of Aylmer passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Saturday July 6, 2024 in her 79th year. Beloved wife of Gerald Buchner. Dear mother of Janice Vandenwyngaert and husband Steve, Julie Bossuyt and husband Craig and Jody Smith. Loving grandmother of Amanda, Stephanie, Jackie, Garrett, Katie, Nathan, Adam, Courtney and Taylor. Great-grandmother of Max, Josie, Hunter and Greyson. Sister of Rick Van Velzer, Kevin Van Velzer, Penny Hill(Gary) and Vickie Thompson. She will be missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother David Van Velzer and sister Karen Willsey. Born in St. Thomas, Ontario on April 11, 1946, daughter of the late Stanley and Dorothy(Campbell) Van Velzer. Her greatest joy came from her family. She enjoyed gardening and spending time in the woods hunting. Visitation will be held at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday from 6-8:00 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation-burial, Springfield Cemetery.
