We bring our sincerest condolences to the Macdonald family. We knew Carolyn through her supportive and wonderful nursing care of our Mother at Chateau Gardens in Aylmer. She was a tremendous nurse. She was supportive to our Mother and to our family over many years. We are thankful for her kindness helping to navigate those years at the home in the best of ways. We are especially thankful for Carolyn's life as she helped build a better community, now and into the future. We pray for your peace and comfort especially during this time of her passing. With kindest regards, Tom & Linda Charlton

There are so many memories of Caroline from the time I lived in Aylmer, then Tillsonburg and now in BC
She lived her life with energy and joy in everything she did. She showed such loving care to the residents of Chateau Gardens when she worked there, and her presence was so uplifting to the residents.
Her talents singing with the Hillbilly Band, and all her ABC ventures were accomplished with such energy and joy.
When I was back visiting in Aylmer I always looked forward to meeting with her and the coffee group at Clark's restaurant.
It was a real pleasure to have known Caroline.

My deepest condolences to Carolyn’s family. Carolyn was a wonderfully caring, compassionate, kind lady. She gave so much of her time to helping others with a smile on her face. Carolyn was so very kind to my sister Lois, picking her up and making sure she was alright when taking her swimming at the pool in St.Thomas. This was just one of the things that she did for Lois. Thank you Carolyn for being such a good friend. Rest In Peace. Simone Bryan

Kind, open-hearted and welcoming. Although I knew Carolyn from town for many years, I didn't get to know her personally until after I was widowed and started crashing the Aylmer Ladies Breakfast Club for coffee hours. Thank you, Carolyn for always welcoming me with your sweet smile and genuine interest in my life. You were a very special person and will be sorely missed by so many.
My deepest condolences to the family and to all of your friends.

Our sympathies to all of Carolyn’s family. to the Doan family and all those who knew and loved her. Years ago my sisters and I sang in the choir with Carolyn. After I was married Carolyn was in the delivery room during the birth of our first child at the Elgin General Hospital). She was also ready to help out with our Mom during the latter stage of her life if we needed her. God has gained another angel❣️

Where to start...from back when I was 'babysitting" John and around the house all the time to school nurse to all the activities at church, in the choir and her sense of fun and humour, she's always been a big part of my life and the lives of the Hilliker family. John, your dad adored her and she him. She would tell it like it is and had a huge heart. We mourn with you. Karen

Best aunt ever.
During high school, while I was attending Glendale (Tillsonburg) my aunt was the school nurse at one of our rivals, East Elgin secondary school (Aylmer).
She and I maintained a friendly rivalry. She kept me supplied with purple and gold tee shirts that promoted the East Elgin eagles while I supplied her with green and gold tees that promoted the Glendale griffins. I would wear those Eagles tees to school and friends would always ask me how and where I got them.
I don't know if EDSS students ever asked her about her griffins tees.
Years later, during my long period of hospitalization due to stroke, she would telephone every Sunday evening just to do a weekly "check-in."
Even after my discharge and return home, she continued to make those weekly Sunday evening calls. She would schedule her weekend routine around them.
