We didn't know Louis well, but I have a lovely memory of him. When my kids were young, I often met up with a few other moms in Tim Hortons for coffee in the morning. Louis always said hello and offered us some honey. My son was probably about 3 or 4 years old and would "play drums" on the table using his fingers for sticks to tap out a beat. One day, Louis came in, watched Tyler for a moment while saying hello, then went to the counter, grabbed 2 straws, came back and bent down to Tyler's level and offered them to him showing how he could use them as drumsticks. Tyler was always a bit shy, but this got a small grin as he accepted the offered 'sticks' and proceeded to tap out a rhythm.
I will remember that sweetness and Louis that way forever.
Praying for peace for his loved ones.

Condolences to his sister Aunt Anne Fehr(Bill) who he would call EVERY SINGLE DAY. One time we had give dad cousin Anne's number so he could talk to his sister, who was visiting there for a week.
To Melvin n Butch who could relate and add on to any of dads memories and stories of 'back in the old country'
Now he can talk to his sister Bertha, sister Sarah, brother Henry, brother Norman, and the oldest sibling Knute.

"IT'S BEAN SOUP"
Pa would go into a restaurant from time to time and ask what kind of soup they had. When the wait staff told him it's bean soup he responded " I don't want to know what it's been, I want to know what it is now." I heard many stories over the past 11 years that I've known him but that one is my favorite.
