I always think of Morley every time I drive by the Avon Mill, as a farm kid of the 70's, I remember him as being a kind and somewhat quiet man, who always had a friendly word and time to chat. He was genuine in demeanor and you always felt that in the moment - he gave you his undivided attention. So sorry for his loss and keeping his family in my thoughts and prayers

It is with great sadness that a wonderful human like Morley is no longer with us. His smile was contagious and his ability to give you strength at a time when you needed it never failed. He usually had his dealings with myself and my family when we were at our lowest but he lifted us up with strength and kindness and sometimes a few odd jobs. Xoxo Rest In Peace

Peggy, Maria, Melanie and Mark. I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Morley always yelling at me to run for Strattons to catch my bus even though I was the 1st student on the bus. This was when we lived in Avon from the time I was 11 to 14. I would go over to the David house to get Maria to come out and play, Morley would tell me if I helped Maria do the dishes, she would get out to play faster. I always fell for that.
Morley looked out for everyone.
He will be missed.

My deepest condolences to Peggy and the David family. My family always enjoyed our time with Morley putting the community turkey dinners together ( we peeled a lot of spuds together) We even delivered a turkey to be cooked to the wrong house at 5am boy did we ever laugh about that. or stopping in at Halloween for a can of pop for the girls and a beer for me lol. It was always good stopping in at the mill to see this happy smiling man. Morley would sew my flag to strengthen it to last longer. The mayor of Avon. I'll never forget this great guy. Rest in peace Morley

Dear Aunty Peggy, Melanie, Maria and Marc, words cannot express how deeply sorry we are in the loss of our dear Uncle Morley. Having married into the David family, Morley was the one who knew everything about
the family history.Spending time at the cottage with Morley and Peggy will never be forgotten. The stories shared were never ending .He was always so jolly, whistling and signing a line here and there from a song.
You will be missed dearly ❤️ Roxanne & Frank

Our memories of Morley go back many years to the time when we lived in Avon as neighbours across the road from each other between 1970 and 75. We remember Morley as fun loving and having a nickname for everyone including our family. Cheryl was called Blondie, Barb was called Rhubarb, Laura was called Candy girl. We enjoyed time together and on a few special occasions at the Johnson cottage on the Pickeral where the joys included good fishing and blueberry pancakes. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Peggy and all of Morley's family. From the Francis family.

Morley. It has been a pleasure to have known you for all these years. Since I was just a little guy in Avon i have known you and your family. You will be so missed by my family and me. We want to thank you for being in our lives. We at the shop will miss your whistling in the morning as you stroll across to pick up your morning paper and saunter back completely oblivious to oncoming traffic because you were already reading the headlines. Damm, we will all miss you. Peggy, Maria, Mark and Mel our hearts go out to you, and we are so sorry for your loss. He was a great, caring, meticulous man, maybe a little to meticulous. Eh? We all know heaven we be a little louder, now Morley has arrived. God bless him.

There have been Claessens' and Davids' living beside each other in Avon as neighbour's for 60 years.
Morley and Peggy gave great support and wonderful friendship to my parents Hubert and Trudy.
We have had inter family friendships all those years and even a marriage.
Morley was the kindest gentlest man. Never heard a cross word from Morley in all those years.
Avon will need to find a new "mayor" - big shoes to fill.
Condolences from the Claessens' to Peggy, Maria, Melanie, Mark and our brother-in-law Mike.
