I remember Barry as a wonderful "Dad" to the kids down the street from our Elk Street home...always kind and smiling. I did not see his expression, Debbie, when you gave him that Beatles White album for Christmas, but I am sure he smiled at that! Please accept my condolences and hold on to those warm memories.

Dear Deb, Wendy, Terry and Cindy, and, of course, Mrs Pinch. I remember when Dad died and the sense that people can grow larger in death, the stories, the testimonies that add layers even to someone as familiar as a father. I love the creative obituary, so wonderfully evocative of your Dad. I learned so much of him. The Elm Street home base of a beloved buddy, I spent a fair bit of time there during those years of our youth. I had forgotten that your Dad had built that home. Perhaps one of the reasons it oozed warmth. The McKennas share that Alzheimer journey (all of Mum's siblings and her mother), the heartbreak of that painful kind of loss. Both of your parents are so blessed to have both local and distant contingents of the Pinch family to accompany them through their final years. Wishing you a 'good' mourning and a sense of peace. My warmest wishes and hugs to all of you.

Sincerest condolences to all the family of Your dad. He was a wonderful man and I vividly remember him when he was on the fire department with my dad. Dad was so excited to get to Metcalfe and be able to see Barry and relive some of their old memories together. Dad (Fred Kristoff) passed Jan 23 and I believe they were a couple of the last firemen to be at the ‘Fire of ‘65’ in Aylmer. May all of the wonderful memories you have soon replace the pain of the loss you feel today! Our thoughts and sympathies are with you!
