Marie and Family, condolences on your loss. I lived across the road from the Saxton farm and spent many nights 'babysitting' the kids while she and John had an evening out. John was the person who introduced me to motorcycle riding which I just gave up this year. I recall a quiet man that spoke with action as well as words. May you all remember the good times and stay close in this time of grief.

First and foremost I want to send my love to Marie , Bill and family.
It was always a great joy of mine to visit the farm. Always a new adventure.
I thought it was seeing where my mom grew up. I realize now that was just part of it. It was also the time I got to visit with Uncle John. The soft voiced, shy wonderful guy. Always in his shop with a cup of coffee, rag in hand improving a motorcycle. Doing what he loved. Always smiling. We all should be so lucky.
I will miss him. Always remembered.
With love Ann

Dear Marie and Family,
So sorry to hear of your loss.
I have lots of nice memories of your family, and of visits to John’s shop -Saxton Motor Service- as a boy with my dad. I remember - the smell of coffee and oil, and i especially remember John’s kind and welcoming smile.

Dear Marie and family, please accept my deepest sympathies for Uncle John’s passing.
I understand why he was loved by so many. I have good memories of him as being hard working, dependable, willing to accept and manage any challenge that came his way and always open to help and support others. His smile and laughter were truly heartwarming. I only wish that I had spent more time with him.
My thoughts are with my Mom and all the family and friends that he has left behind.
With love,
Susan Read

Firstly and most importantly my warmest condolences to Marie and family who had my Uncle John in their daily lives.
As my son Jake simply explains, 'death is hard' I wish you all passage through this hard time.
When I was a grade school age kid our family briefly lived at the farm and then in London so I had the good fortune of spending time with Uncle John who without intending taught me many things from how to make just about any piece of equipment better than its designers intended to how to deal with mistakes with composure and calm. Whenever I smell that unique mix of earth, oil and gasoline it brings back wonderful memories of time in the Saxton Motors shop.
For some magical reason there were always Honda mini bikes to ride that never ran out of gas or needed repair ..... at least as far as we kids knew.
Thanks Uncle John, you will be missed,
David John Read

Our sincere condolences to Marie and family. We enjoyed visiting with John and you over the past several years both here and in Southern Charm, Florida. Always looks forward to playing cards or shuffleboard, going out for dinner or going on excursions together. John was a true gentleman and was one of the most respected men in the park in Florida. John had that cute smile that melted your heart and gave the best hugs! Will always remember the good times together. Will miss him.

The arrival of my adorable baby brother John provided my family and me immense joy. We watched him grow from an energetic happy boy, into a solid , trustworthy man. When he was consistently helping neighbours and friends with their machinery, this illustrated his true character.
Although I didn’t see him often enough, knowing he was steadfast with his emotional and practical support, meant the world to me.
With love always to John, Marie, and his family, Margaret Saxton Read

Thinking warmly of all those close to John. To me he was my mom's cool brother, who loved cars and especially bikes, and realized his dream of a bike shop. That shop and the farm was a magical place for me. Uncle John's benevolent spirit will always stay with me.
