Bonnie
So sorry to hear about your mom. I don't keep up on Straffordville's comings and goings and only checked obits late Tuesday night. I'm sure you and your family will miss her terribly. I too have fond memories of both your mom and dad. She was such a lovely person and a very strong family supporter. Last time I saw her was when I dropped off the pic I found of you and Bill on the farm. Sincerely, my deepest sympathy. Lori

Bonnie - sorry to hear about your Mom. Not only were our mothers musically entwined, but it was to your mother that my entire family always turned to get help with their horse-crazed daughter, since none of them knew the first thing, and it was a bewildering concept to all of them. I will always think of Liz Ball as the heroine who was behind my first trail rides, the acquisition of my first pony and Western tack, the acquisition of my first English saddle, and the recommendations for my first series of English riding lessons, all of which were, of course, the basis for my career and competitive life for the next 45 years. She was a delightfully warm, funny and helpful woman to all, but especially to a tomboy who didn't share in the pursuits or interests of the rest of her family, and I will be forever grateful for her constant encouragement and to the bridle path of life on which she set me.

My sympathies are extended to Liz and her family today, and as one of her extended family members I will miss her too. Mom enjoyed visiting with Liz as they also shared a common interest in music, both being accomplished in that field and as organists of their churches. Mom (Margaret Ball) was the organist at her wedding in Straffordville I believe.
I have a memory of long ago visiting Bob and Elizabeth at their farm, but many more memories of them at the annual Ball Picnic. I remember when they attended as a young dating couple so long ago.
Best wishes to her family in this difficult time. My thoughts are with you.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Liz's passing. While she lived across from us we had many great visits, She was such a happy person Her love of piano and the playing for St Luke's Church in Vienna was always appreciated especially when she would accompany her grandson Brett, when he would come and play the violin for us.. Your whole family is in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time, but the many good memories that you have of Liz as a Mom, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Friend will always be with you.
Liz God bless and Godspeed to your new home in heaven.
Your friends,
Bob and Wanda

Please accept my condolences on the passing of Liz. I have many fond memories of singing in the choir in Straffordville while she was directing, and we played music together many times in church - Liz on piano and me on my keyboard. Straffordville has lost another wonderful person who had a lot to offer to the community. God bless!
