Words can never take away the pain and sorrow we feel during the loss of someone so very special. Yet as the days pass we can come to feel comfort knowing that while our loved one may have moved on to a new stage in his journey, he will always be with us in spirit. Darrell was a wonderful human being who always put others before himself. He truly cared about his community, his family and his one true love Nancie. When I think of Darrell I can still hear his booming laugh that came right from his gut, his blunt and funny way of telling you the truth and his dedication to his community that was truly inspirational. As a community we have lost the definition of a volunteer, a leader and an example of how we should all live!! Thank you Darrell for coming into all of our lives.

I am shocked and saddened to learn of Darrell’s passing. I came to know Darrell through Community Policing in various communities and on various committees. Darrell was a pleasure to deal with and very forthright and honest. He’d tell it like it is. And he was usually right. :) I am glad to have had the chance to know him. Again, I am shocked at his passing. The community has lost a very valuable member. My most sincere condolences to Nancie, the entire family, and to Darrell’s many friends, colleagues and acquaintances. You are in my thoughts. As is Darrell...Rest In Peace, my friend.
