Obituary of Tom Butterwick

Butterwick, Thomas Walter passed away peacefully at Maple Manor Nursing Home, Tillsonburg on Sunday, January 14, 2018 in his 75th year. Survived by daughters Angela Harris of Leamington and Karen Lee Pelletier(Martin) of Keswick. Four grandchildren Devon (Jess), Alex Harris(Santana), Joshua and  Sébastien Pelletier. Also survived by four great grandchildren Elijah, Mickayah, Selinah and Elizabeth. Brother of Larry Butterwick(Bonnie), Bonnie Bradfield (Ron), Wanda Hoshal(Bob) and Barbara Epple-Rennie. He was also loved by many nieces and nephews. Born in Tillsonburg on June 28, 1943, son of the late Edson and Audrey (Brown) Butterwick.

Tom was a free spirit who loved to travel about Canada and the USA.  His home for most of his adult life was in the Tillsonburg area. Tom loved to ride motorcycles and this was his major form of travel for many years. He drove delivery truck for Fernlea Flowers. For a number of years, he also worked on tobacco farms in his younger days for his parents and neighbours. Tom drove the Amish to many places including Pennsylvania USA. After his stroke Tom spent his later years in Maple Manor Nursing Home, but still spent the major part of each day on his scooter roaming about town. One of his major enjoyments was buying and scratching lottery tickets. Tom had many friends in the Tillsonburg and surrounding area.  He always said he hoped to be remembered by these friends and his family with only good memories. He was a free spirit who loved as he would say to "Do things my way."

Friends may call at the  H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer for visitation on Thursday 7-9 p.m.  A private family funeral service will be held. Cremation with burial in the Aylmer Cemetery. Donations to the Maple Manor Nursing Home or Cancer Society would be appreciated.
