My sincere wishes to Shirley and family. Glen was my Criminal Code instructor in Regina back in 1962/63. He use to regale us with stories about his experiences in the field especially when he was on the drug squad. Many of the stories we could not repeat here (grin). Glen's father was the barber where I lived in Shaunavon Saskatchewan (Home of Hayley Wickenheiser) and probably gave me my first haircut. My father once told me that when he was visiting Vancouver (where we have family) he walked into a bar/pub, and spotted Glen sitting at a table. Dad walked over to him and greeted him like he had met an old friend from home. Glen quietly whispered to Dad... "Bill, I'm working undercover and nobody is supposed to know me here." Imagine... my father could have blown his cover! -- Glen was a fine instructor who gave us an important grounding in a very important job, but he was even a greater man whom we all looked up to. I have included him in our "Troop website: http://www.anabelassociates.com/rcmp.shtml#Skaftfeld-Glen Patrick

Dear Shirley and family - Dan and Maxine Lemieux extend sincere condolences on the passing of Glen. Glen was by far one of the best criminal law instructors in "Depot". He combined his knowledge and wisdom with his ability to mimic dialects and tell informative and entertaining stories to make his points. Recruits learned Canadian Law and enjoyed the experience. We recently attended the RCMP Vets AGM in Depot and I met a number of retired members who spoke of Glen as being their Criminal Law instructor. We are deeply saddened by his loss. He will be missed. It was with sadness that I read in the RCMP Vets Page of the passing of Glen. He was one of my Instructors at Depot in 1959. He was a most excellent one and someone that left an impression on me. I am a good friend of Tom Foster and he was one of my Instructors at that time. We talk often about that time, and he related to me that he was still in contact with Glen and told me how he was doing Again, my sincere condolences.

So sorry to hear about Glen's passing. He lived a good life and had many worthwhile accomplishments to his credit. He was always smiling when we met in Aylmer, usually No Frills. Quite a few years ago, he was involved with the retired RCMP Officers in cooking a breakfast for the participants at an Arabian Horse show in Ilderton. The charity was for the Lupus Association of Ontario. Glen took a few pictures of me riding my horse Basil in Native Costume printed and enlarged one and it is a treasured momento of a very special day. Sincerely, Mary Dancey Clarke
