Dear Pete, Kim, Jason, & Greg; We wish to express our deepest sympathy @ your loss of "oma." I will miss her so much, as I know you will too. She was a great lady & I loved her too. I want to share this story with you. When I sat in church with the boys when they were young, we always sat in the pew usually across from oma, or very close to her. I used to "de toy"(take toys away) from the boys before church. Well, one Sunday I forgot & of course, the boys played with a squishy ball. This ball popped out of Devon's hand & flew across the aisle to land close to oma. Father Mc Manus was just starting to head down the aisle when your mom "dove"(the boys were surprised @ how fast a little old lady could move) into the aisle & grabbed the ball which she stuck in her pocket. Father saw her do this, & gave her a "look" as he walked by. The 3 of us were staring @ her & she winked @ us as if to say that we were safe. On the way out of church she gave the toy back to me & that is when she gave me her "famous advice" concerning child control in church. She told me to squeeze them right behind the knee in the hollow of the knee. She said that was what she used on her kids to keep them quiet. I have to say that I used this many times when Devon & Brian were small & it worked. I thought of her every time I did it. She was dearly loved & will be terribly missed. All my love, Deb xoxoxo

To the Van Deursen Families, We would like each of you to know just how very shocked and sad we were to hear of Mom's passing. Our deepest condolences to each of you. We have had the pleasure to have gotten to know your Mom and Oma for many years now. I have been very comfortable calling her Mom Van Deursen and my children have always called her Oma. I will always remember her kindness and how apparent her love for her children and grandchildren was so important to her. She has supported Kim and I through many difficult and sad times, including the death of our son, Eric. I will never forget her kind words and talks. She will be missed dearly. One thing I have come to learn over all the times our hearts have been shattered is, no one that is truly loved, EVER really dies, because they will always live on in our hearts.Love never dies. Our deepest Sympathies to you all. God be with you now and always through these most difficult of times. Love Abe and Sue

Please know that we will be remembering you all at the time of the funeral, though we now live on Vancouver Island. Our sincere sympathy Tom and Vida Cunniffe

John, Peter, Paul, Mike, Henrietta, Corinne, Anne, Joanne and families...... Let me preface this by saying...my deepest condolences to all of you. I am honored to have the memories I have of Ann, and also of all of you as a family, with her and your father. I can vividly recall our childhood times spent together on the farm and how she was always standing by with a smile, a laugh, some good home cooking, and a huge dose of love. When I think of Ann and her gentleness a quote from Maya Angelou comes to mind: "If you find it in your heart to care for somebody else, you will have succeeded. She always cared about others
