My deepest condolences to Rudy's family. As the crime reporter at the London television station many years ago, I worked often with Rudy, profiling the great work of the Ontario Police College. Rudy was a kind and generous man, very giving of his time and patient with my sometimes endless supply of questions. I am so sorry to hear that he is no longer with us to share his amazing self. I hope wonderful memories of time spent with Rudy will help the family get through this difficult time.

Rudy's quiet yet assertive demeanor, his willingness to learn, teach, his humour and story telling added great value for all attendees. He demonstrated true professionalism and personal presence and touched our hearts forever.

We want to extend our condolences to Charlene and family at this time of grief, loss and mourning. While Rudy has gone to a better place, his passing leaves a hole in hearts that only time can heal. I had the distinct pleasure to work for and with Rudy at the Ontario Police College. Rudy was a consummate professional leader with a vision, seeking to create an environment where all could succeed. Director Gheysen was a true leader who empowered his staff and was someone who"s friendship I cherished. His quiet words of wisdom, his gentle guidance, his ability to inspire and his unerring efforts to make time for me will not be forgotten. Rudy was a true friend whom I, along with many others will miss. His courage and quiet determination must now help each of us as we grieve for the loss of a great man.

Dear Charlene and Family. I am heartbroken to hear of Rudy's passing. We met on my 40th birthday almost 25 years ago when I first became a police advisor. We followed each others careers in policing especially when we were both in the Sol Gen, and I was so impressed with his knowledge, quiet wisdom, common sense and mostly his sincerity. He was the epitome of class and a true gentleman and I am so glad we shared a long friendship that included many laughs, serious discussions, and sometimes tears. He made me a much better person and contributed immeasurably to policing in Canada. My heart goes out to you Charlene and your family as I know Rudy was much loved and he as well loved and adored you all. Godspeed Rudy, my dear friend, and may light perpetual shine upon you. You will never be forgotten. Shelagh Morris and John Cain

Charlene, Dianna and family. My heart breaks as I pen our deepest condolences to all of you on the loss of a very special man, your husband, son, father and grandfather. I am so blessed to be able to number myself amongst Rudy's friends and colleagues. From my first term on Aylmer Council when he was a constable, to watching him excel in the position of Chief of the Aylmer Police Service, later, to having the honour of working alongside him as a member and Chair of the first Aylmer Police Services Board, and ultimately, to being able to watch as he brought his talents to the position of Director of the Ontario Police College at Aylmer, I can look back and say how fortunate I, and his extended communities were. My sense of grief is palpable. I can't even begin to imagine your pain. Our prayers are with all of you. May God watch over you and provide you strength and comfort.
