Dear Val & family,
I have gotten to know Joe from visiting Aylmer when Fr. Simard was at the Church. I was the one who travelled many times from Windsor & even had the opportunity to clean the Church for a short time.
Getting to know Joe was a blessing & I always admired his love for God, always praying in Church, being very involved with the Knights of Columbus and other various functions & groups. He was a model for every man to not to be afraid of showing how much you love Jesus & always praying in Church alone in the quiet.

It is with sadness that I read of Joe's passing. Having the last name that started with Van, we were in the same class at London Teachers' College and when Joe came back to high school he was in my grade 13 class. He was a kind, gentle man with a determined spirit. He will be missed by many. My thoughts are with you at this sad time.

My deepest sympathies are with you all. I taught at Monsignor Morrison for about 4 years, 4 years ago. Joe was supply teaching there and also helped us with reffing basketball games. He was always wonderful with the kids and generous with his time. He always understood when we'd call him last minute and was always so empathetic to us when he knew we were frazzled and overwhelmed. My prayers are with you.

Dag familie van Dijk, we hebben het bericht ontvangen dat Joseph van Dijk is overleden waaraan is ons nog niet bekend maar dat hoor ik wel van Stiena, die bel ik binnenkort even en dan horen wij het wel. Jullie alle de familie zijn vrouw en kinderen en jullie de familie"s van Dijk heel veel sterkte met het overlijden van broer Joseph. Morgenvroeg zijn we bij elkaar in de kerk dan gedenken we ons Vat en Moen hen 71 jaar trouwdag en daar is de intenties voor, dan zal ik gelijk een gebed gedenken voor Joseph in de kerk hier in Wilbertoord.
