Dear Diane, Sara, and Ken I was sorry to hear about your loss. After reading your Dad/Grandfathers's obituary and messages of condolences, it appears that he was quite an accomplished individual who had lived a full life. I hope you will find comfort in knowing that you were in my thoughts this past week and especially today. Take care of each other. Sincerely, Cheryl Chalmers

Dear Family, I just wanted to tell you all how very sorry I was to hear of your dear father's death. I am a volunteer at Parkwood Hospital and I knew your father very well. We used to have a "date" every Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. to go to the music program in the auditorium. Every Wednesday I would come up looking for your father after lunch, and he never needed much coaxing to go and take part in the music. As well we really enjoyed Thursday evening Hymn Sing. One Thursday evening I went to pick him up and your father regretfully told me that he had another girlfriend picking him up for the sing-song. He just knew how to make all the volunteers laugh! I loved your father dearly. He had a wonderful sense of humour, I never heard him complain. He just accepted growing older with all the aches and pains so graciously. Every week he would tell me of how proud he was of his family and all the grandchildren. He loved you all. He also missed his wife very much, often asking me if I were married. I just knew in my heart today when I heard Don had passed away that he would be re-united with his one true love. I am so sorry for your loss. I hope this message gives you some comfort. I think your father would want you to know that he was very well liked and respected at Parkwood. May God bless you all in your time of sorrow. Sincerely, Adele Smith
