I learned so much about bees while sitting at lunches with Richard. He loved to talk about his bees. I never even gave much thought really about bees and there I would be sitting there with Richard listening with amazement to his every word about God's hardworking bees. I shall miss Richard and his stories of bees.

I was the farm gopher - take this to Dickie! He knew exactly what it was and what was wrong with it. If it was really dirty, he would send it home repaired in a box/bag with specific instructions on how to hook it up. Sometimes we wrote it on the box. If he wasn't in the shop, I would leave it hidden from the public in or behind something. How he knew where I left it was always a mystery to me. I would call him to tell him where it was and he would say "I got it and I'm working on it. Call you when it's done." There was nothing he couldn't fix. I am really going to miss my visits to his shop and him.

Our condolences to Cynthia, Evangeline, Dan, Sadie, Glenn and the Family. We will always remember his stories, laughter and he never hesitated to lend a helping hand. The shop used to be my grandfather's, Ed Wiley whom Richard said he could feel his presence at times. It always gave me a warm and happy feeling knowing the light was on or the woodstove was going at the shop and he (they) were there. Such a wonderful kind and generous man. Sorry to hear of Richards passing. I dealt with Richard for 40 yrs and he was the best. Always went the extra mile when he needed to and I never saw him give up, he loved fixing things. Recently he gave me a tour of his bee operation and he was truly fascinated with them. Condolences to the whole family.
