Edith May Wilson (Balcomb) 1918 - 2009
Her life's journey completed, Edith passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton on Tuesday January 20th surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Harley Wilson (1991). Loving mother of Allan Wilson and wife Judy of Hamilton, David Wilson and wife Lynn of Tyendinaga. Dearly missed by her grandchildren: Kelly Wilson (Tony) of Montreal, Scott Wilson of Victoria, BC, Linda Robertson (Wally) of Smithers, BC, Michael Robertson (Christine) of Acton, Maggie Wilson (Rob) of Toronto, Adam Maracle (Dawn) of Tyendinaga, April McEwen (Bernie) of Tyendinaga and her great grandchildren Jacob, Emmett, Claire, Casey, Priscilla, Mackenzie, Brett, Brodie, Bailey, Caleb, Trent, Blake and Savannah. Dear sister to Velma Rice of Guelph. Predeceased by sisters Erie Potts and Bertha Fugard. Born in Port Rowan on May 15, 1918. Daughter of the late Henry and Pearl (Brinn) Balcomb. Edith was a member of St. John's United Church in Springfield and the U.C.W. and more recently Melrose United Church in Hamilton. She was a resident on her farm in South Dorchester for 67 years. Her compassionate, caring and selfless nature was appreciated by all throughout her life. She touched all who she met. Special thanks to St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton, Val and the 4th & 6th floor teams (Mary Grace) for their kindness and care. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral home, Aylmer on Thursday January 22 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bert Radford officiating (Melrose United). Interment, Aylmer Cemetery.
