As sad as I am to see you go grandpa, I'm glad you are finally at peace. I remember when I visited you in the hospital last year you said you didn't want to live life as a sick person, and unfortunately the last year of your life was just that. I will always remember you as the beaming, happy, smiling person you were. You taught me to make each day count, and I will always carry that with me. Whenever I think of you in heaven I will picture you smiling with a glass of whiskey. I know that you and dad will take care of each other. Love you lots!

Dear Dad,
I sat in your chair today. I've never felt so all alonei. For 47 years you've been many things to me. My first love, my hero, my biggest fan, my confident but most of all my Dad. You loved me unconditionally, you taught me to love without restrictions and limits. You always told me how much you loved me, how proud you were of me. As I held you in my arms as you slipped away, I want you to know that you kept every promise you every made. You were so brave right until the end. I asked you to please put yourself first for once in your life.....I guess you heard me as you slipped away.
You will always be my everything and I promise to continue to live as you taught me with love, respect, loyalty, kindness, compassion but most of all faith.

It is with great heartache to announce the loss of my Papa.
I remember sitting on your bedside earlier that day, where you made me a promise that you will never let me be alone, you will forever and always my angel up above, watching and guiding me from heaven. I helped you lay at ease, and was the last person to say okay. Tears filled our eyes, and warmth through our connecting heads, when our heart beat was in sync for the final time.
The moment you died my heart was torn into two, the one side filled with a heart ache and the other died with you. Last night, while I laid awake and the rest of the world was fast asleep, I took a walk down memory lane, with tears running down my cheeks. Remembering you will be easy, and I will do it every day, but missing you will be a heartache that will never go away. I will hold you tightly within my heart and there you will remain, until the joyous days arrives when we meet again.
Life won't be so easy; there will be no one on the other end of the phone to say I love you and listen to the comfort of your voice, Fish Fridays will now have an empty spot at the table (an no food because you cooked), and the boat will be very "Erie" without you in it.
I am blessed to have been your best friend for 23 years. If there is anything in particular I will never forget, it would be to never get off my horse, to keep on riding. I have never sat to high on my horse and never trotted so at ease. I will always keep on going, now that you are watching over me.
I am so proud to call myself Grandpa's princess, and yesterday, I lost my king.
