I was so sad to hear of Sooz's passing. She has always stood out in my life as an artistic inspiration and a person I have always looked up to. We will unfortunately be missing the event this weekend, however will be fortunate enough to spend the following weekend in Port Bruce. I am thankful to have gotten to spend several moments over the past few years with Sooz and the rest of the family. Last summer when we went to PB for a visit, she was such a gracious host and I truly felt so welcomed by her and really enjoyed visiting with her.

I am saddened to read this in the paper, I went to school with Susan at Kilworth for only four years, but remember those years very well. Susan had a birthday party, which was the first one I had been to of a school friend, we roasted hotdogs and marshmallows in the fireplace, and played dress up from a large assortment of clothing, even as a child I knew her house was different, now i recognize it as being artistic.
I remember Nicky, as he was also in that one room school house, and the teacher, (Mrs. Wickerson), had him stand to tell us of his trip to "The Gulf of Mexico". I remember the horse named sunny. It was a wonderful time to be young, and a wonderful area to live in.
It is wonderful to read of Susans accomplishments in life and her large family, I am very sorry, and wish to express condolences to all her family.

Susan Johnson and I started Grade one together in 1950. Only ones in the grade. Graduated together in June 1957. Many fond memories of Susan. Creative then and appears throughout life. A shame to lose one from SS # 1 Kilworth! My best to Nicki and Ian Colin McLarty

I am first cousin of Doug Singbush and met Susan when Doug and she came out to Vancouver on holiday after they were married. I was so glad to discover that Doug had such a loving partner. Through the ensuing years I learned of Susan's great gifts as a hostess to the Ontario Mulligan clan and as an artist. My condolences to Doug and family. The loss is profound...as was the impact of Susan on those she touched. Brenda Kierans Wahlen

So now in heaven the sounds of an artist at her loom magically weaving a tapestry of shimmering silk… and heaven will be a more beautiful place.
