Dearest Mary Helen and the rest of the extended family. Brian Jr. and I have so many memories of being with you guys. The good times, the laughs, the tears, the excitement, the honour of being able to know you all. I know Gils has already met up with Kathy and they're laughing out load about the "good old days". It's so easy to say Bob will be missed. It's so much easier to mean it when it's said with my heart. Many years ago Gils and I coached a team in the Pro Allis Invitational Tournament- Championship and won! While it was in the early 1960's I remember that night and Gil's most capable assistance. I don't think it is hard for anyone to describe how they felt about you or how deeply you touched their lives. But I will say this, it is not only because of my father or my brothers that I grew up loving the game of baseball, it was because of you. You were my first baseball coach ever (tee-ball). I remember the first day my dad brought me down to optimist park in Aylmer and said where are the "Tigers" and you turned and said right here...bring her over!! RIP Gils, you were my mentor and reffing Dad and I appreciated everything you did for me! Mary Helen and family: I was saddened to hear of Bob's passing. We had been friends since playing basketball on the outdoor court at Balaclava. I respected him as a father and an official and enjoyed our meetings on fields, courts or the streets of Aylmer. I would call him Gils and he would call me Baldy just as we Stories would be told and we both would laugh and feel better about the day. He was widely appreciated and will be missed.
