Obituary of Blair Barons

Barons, Kathleen Blair longtime resident of Aylmer passed away at Chartwell Home, Aylmer on Sunday February 15, 2015 in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Harley (2014). Dear mother of Kathryn Girard (Denis) of Ottawa, Kirk Barons (Bonnie) of Aylmer, Jean Ross ( John O'Handley) of Grand Bend, Faith Ambridge of Toronto and Jordie Barons of Aylmer. Loved by her grandchildren Nicole(Kevin), Danielle (Danny), Brooke (Colin), Amy (Brent), Jenn (Lorne), Kristen (Bryan), Andrew (Alissa), Cody, Maggie (Rob), Bronwen and 9 great grandchildren. Sister of Elizabeth Butler, Susan Pitchford and predeceased by a brother James Baxter. Sister-in-law of Margaret Baxter. Born in Windsor Ontario on November 15, 1928 daughter of the late Edmond and Jean (Leishman) Baxter. Blair was an R.N. She was the first woman elected to Aylmer Council in 1972 and served four terms in total. Her most rewarding accomplishment was her involvement with the relocation of the Library to the Old Town Hall in 1981. She was a past recepient of Aylmer's Citizen of the Year. She was a co-founder of the Christmas Care program and the Corner Cupboard. She was a member of the Elgin BiCentennial committee in 2000. She was a fifty year plus member of the Anglican Church in Aylmer. She served on the Thames Valley District Health Council. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 170 John St. N., Aylmer on Thursday February 19, 2015 at 11:00 am.
