Obituary of Velma Kennedy
Velma Kennedy, a long time resident of Calton, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Lambton Meadowview Villa, Petrolia on Wednesday December 3, 2014. She is now reunited with her husband Tony in Heaven. Born in Malahide Township on January 23rd, 1928, daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Flagg, and survived by her dear sister Hazel Sidor of Aylmer. She was in her 86th year. Loving mother of her daughter Wilma Tichenoff of Wyoming, daughter Karen and son-in-law Richard Turner of London. Velma will be missed by her grand-daughters, Tina Wilson, Jill Vording husband Jim, Vicki Vandenbrink husband Paul, and her six great-grandchildren, Heath, Reed, Grace, Claire, Noah and Olivia.
Predeceased by her husband Anthony (Tony) Kennedy (1997), brothers Stan Flagg (1957), Russell Flagg (1997), sister Mabel George (1984) and son-in-law Bill Tichenoff (2008). Velma was a very active member of Calton Baptist Church and Calton Women's Institute. The Funeral Service will be held at Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Saturday Dec. 6 at 1 p.m. and friends may call on Saturday from 11:30- 1 p.m. Interment Aylmer Cemetery.
