Obituary of Julien Taelman

Taelman, Julien A. peacefully with his family by his side at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Monday, April 23, 2012. Julien A. Taelman of Aylmer (Springwater) in his 88th year. Beloved husband of 61 years of Erna (VanHalewyn) Taelman. Dear Father of Karen and husband George Markus of Chatham and Sharon and husband Grant Gulych of St.Thomas. Proud and loving grandfather of Sheena Csakli and partner Brandon Babcock. Brother of Dorothy and husband Walter DeCraemer and brother-in-law of Antoinette DeLeemans. Also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. Born in Moeskroen, West Flanders, Belgium on March 6, 1924 son of the late Florimond and Irma (VanSeveren) Taelman. Julien came to Canada in 1937 and was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. He will always be remembered for his story telling and his sense of humour. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm . Funeral Mass will be at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Aylmer on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 11:00 am.
