Susan Monteith Susan Marguerite Monteith (nee Patterson), born in Chatham, Ontario on November 8, 1917, entered eternal rest peacefully at home in Aylmer on August 27, 2014 in her 97th year. Predeceased by husband Donald J. Monteith (1997) and siblings Loughlin (L.B.), Lyle and Sadie. Cherished mother of Ron (Joan), Hugh (Ingrid) and Ed (Pat). Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Jennifer (Alex) Russell; James Monteith; Jason Monteith; Matt and Mark (Kate) McVeigh; Jamie (Pam) and Cathy Crichton; Roy (Lisa), Rob and Ryan (Melissa) Watson. Loving great-grandmother to Zachary, Ella and Noah Russell; Van and Will McVeigh; Millie and Violet Crichton; and Delaney, Makenna, Colby, Cooper and Carson Watson. Fondly remembered by Errol and Yvonne Patterson, Cynthia Bennett, Tim Cummings, Lynn Fox, Brenda Patterson and Bronwyn Hall. Sue was a proud WWII veteran, serving overseas as a navy nurse, was a member of St. Paul's United Church and active for many years in the UCW. She was an avid curler and bridge player. She leaves many friends in the Aylmer area. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday, Aug. 31 from 2-5 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Monday, Sept. 1 at 11 a.m. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery.
