Groat, Betty peacefully at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Monday, November 7, 2011. Betty Groat, a lifelong resident of Belmont in her 75th year. Beloved wife of 56 years to Douglas Groat. Dear mother of Michael Groat and wife Cindy of Whitby, Vickie Davis and husband Jeff of St. Thomas, Steven Groat and wife Michelle of Sweaburg and Christine Bloetjes and husband Steve of Dorchester. Loved by her grandchildren Michelle (Dave), Neil, Jaclyn (Russ), Jeremy (JoAnn), Jason (Jacqui), Stephanie (Ryan), Jessica, Nicole and Shelley. Great-grandmother of Cameron and Mason. Sister of Fred Tribe (Hazel), Marie Hartney, George Tribe (Shirley), sister-in-law of Marjory Tribe and predeceased by brothers Keith and Bob, brother-in-law Tom and sister-in-law Tillie. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Born in Ariss, Ontario on November 27, 1936, daughter of the late James and Gladys (Moody) Tribe. Betty was a longtime employee of Scotiabank in Belmont. Friends may call at H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, November 11 at 1 p.m. Interment Dorchester Union Cemetery.
