Obituary of Nick Buis

Buis, Nicholas "Nick" of Aylmer passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Sunday, August 17, 2014 in his 80th year. Beloved husband of Sadie Buis. Dear father of Edwin and wife Hilda of Toronto, George and wife Arlene of Kamloops, B.C., Marian Bakker and husband Adriaan of Whitby, Francine Leestma and husband Tom of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Brian Buis of Aylmer. Loving grandfather of Janessa, Jardana, Andrew(Misty), Stephanie, Joshua, Christopher, Melissa, Emily, David (Hannah), Matthew, Nicole, Anna, Zach. Great granfather of Jonah, Priscilla, Nolan. Dear brother of Geurt Buis and wife Janny, Ben Buis and wife Nel, Mary Provost, Minnie Chapman, Mina Huizing and husband Gerry. Predeceased by a brother Richard Buis, sisters Jenny Driesman and Jane Greer. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Born in Nuenen, The Netherlands on Oct. 31, 1934, son of the late Nicholas and Francyna (VanHelvoort) Buis. Nick came to Canada in 1948 and worked with Natural Resource Gas for many years. He was a faithful member of Aylmer Christian Reformed Church. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A burial service will be held at the Aylmer Cemetery on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at 9:45 followed by the funeral service at the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church on Wednesday at 11:00 am.
