Obituary of David Griffin

Griffin, David John passed away peacefully at his home in London on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 in his 70th year. Beloved husband of Donnajean (Pattinson) Griffin. Dear father of Oliver Griffin (Molly) and their children Luke and Andrew of Edwards, Colorado, Kingsley Griffin of Dubai, UAE, Grahame Griffin of Red Deer, Alberta and Eliza Griffin of London. Brother of Darrell Griffin (Debbie) of Petaluma, California and Paul Griffin (Terrie) of Concord, New Hampshire. Brother-in-law of Lynn Pattinson, Mary Scheucher (Roland) and Shirley Pattinson. Predeceased by his parents David and Mary Griffin, in-laws Hulme and Florence Pattinson, sister-in-law Patricia (Pip) Pattinson (1975). Born in Boston Massachusetts on February 26, 1944. In addition to his four beloved and remarkable children, David was proud to have been a member of the Hughes team at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California that designed and successfully sent the first unmanned spacecraft to the moon. A voracious reader, during his lifetime he enjoyed reading thousands of books. A man with a huge heart and a kind soul -under it all lay a poet. The family would like to thank Dr. Adam Power and his team for their incredible skill, kindness and compassion. Cremation has taken place. A service for David will be held at the Pattinson Family Home, 393 Talbot Street West, Aylmer on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 2:00 pm. Flowers are welcome, as are donations to Mission Services London.
