Obituary of Derek McDowell

DEREK ALAN MCDOWELL March 10, 1981 - January 3, 2014. Passed away at age 32 in Oshawa, Ontario Beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson and friend. Survived by father Alan (Marianne) McDowell of Oshawa and mother Kathy (David) Lennon of Fayetteville Georgia; sisters Cassandra of Hamilton and Darcie of Oshawa; nephew Zidan of Hamilton; step-sisters Tiina (Clint) Kallio, Kati (Biff) Hamilton, Anna Kallio, Pia (Sean) Kallio and Heidi (Adam) Barry; grandmother Mary McDowell; grandfather Theodore Huisman. Predeceased by brother David, grandfather Arnold McDowell and grandmother Ellie Huisman. He was an avid painter and comic book enthusiast. He was always there with a joke and a smile. He is greatly missed. Friends may call at the Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Tuesday 7-9 p.m. where the funeral will be held at the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow.
