We have fond memories of Iris. She was caretaker at St. Johns St. Thomas when Bill was rector there. She used to swim at the Y and hang her bathing suit in the furnace room to dry. She was always friendly, well organized. She would however go out and chase away the students from Arthur Voaden who lolled around on the church front steps impeding entry to the church. Bill solved that laggard problem by going out and sharing Christ with them. The students quickly moved on. Between Bill and Iris, they solved the students milling around outside. We shall miss her but do remember her with great fondness.

We met Iris at the Elgin theatre in 2008 while waiting to go in and see an opera from The Met. We became instant friends and we feel blessed that she serendipitously entered our lives. She lived life to the full and enjoyed every minute of it. Her newspapers played an important role in her life. Iris was a remarkable and very talented lady. She was very well read and we had such interesting conversations. She was a Royalist to the core and James(born in Scotland) was always on the lookout for new books on the Royals that he could get her. Iris was truly her own person and James and I loved her dearly. Thank you Iris. Rest in peace.

My dearest friends I was sorry to learn of the passing of Iris. She was a excellant friend.When a person dies so many happy memories. I remember Iris and her late husband Reg playing cards with my parents,IRIS and reg were 2 of the nicest persons there is--they are in heaven with the lord.
