Obituary of Jim Speets

Speets, at his residence on Monday, March 17, 2008. Germent "Jim" Speets of Aylmer in his 78th year. Beloved husband of 57 years of Wilma (Van Wassenburg) Speets. Dear father of Marian De Leebeeck and husband Robert, Wilma Dionne, Jack Speets and wife Rose, Yvonne Krahn and husband Jake and Anita Speets. Loving grandfather of Jeff De Leebeeck and wife Jac, Jody De Leebeeck and husband Adam Spagnol, Jason Dionne, Lindy, Ryan and Jessica Speets, Tiffany, Jennifer and Brendon Krahn. Great-grandfather of Josephine, Rebecca and Thomas De Leebeeck, Nathanial Spagnol, Joselyn Cliffe, Kiarra and Dax Mitton. Also survived by sisters Nel Hoekstra and husband Eel, Lien Marten-Speets, Mary Waal and husband Peter and a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Jan Speets, a sister Ans Speets, grandchildren Christopher and Michael Speets, and Donny Dionne. Born in Schmerhoren The Netherlands on November 23, 1930 son of the late Jacobus Marinus and Arendje (DeGeus) Speets. He was a member of the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church and the St. Thomas District Male Choir "Crescendo". Jim was an avid gardender and fisherman. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church (Caverly Road at South St. W.) on Thursday March 20, 2008 at 11:00 am.
