Bob was the kind of man we all aspire to be. His strength, courage, kindness, self-sacrifice, honesty, and dedication to both his family, and the community as a whole, was second to none.
Bob did not need uniforms, medals, or fancy titles to mold his character, as he was the genuine item. I have known some exceptional people in my time, but no one possessed all the great attributes as Bob did. He was a born Leader. You cannot train Leaders like Bob, they simply have it. Bob lead by example, always putting other people`s needs before himself.
His pride, and his passion was his family which gave him the respect he deserved.
Throughout the years, no matter where I was in the world, or what I was doing, I could talk to Bob, and he would always put things back in to perspective, as only he could. It would bring a smile to my face, and all was well in the world again. I will always love him for that.
He has touched so many people over the years. His legacy will live on through his children, and their children, and through all of us that were blessed to know him.
As a tribute to Bob, if we all perform a kind gesture to someone everyday, it will keep that wonderful smile of his shining on all of us.
He was my cousin, my brother, my friend, and my mentor

Words cannot express my sincere sympathy to the Ker family at this time. I will always remember Bob's smiling face when dropping the kids off for the day (& sometimes very early in the morning!) with Cathy. It was with deep sadness and shock that I learned of the passing of Bob early this morning. My deepest sympathies go to Cathy and their children and grandchildren. I have know Bob for 30 plus years and although I moved from Aylmer 15 years ago, Bob and I always kept in touch. I was pleased to have been able to see Bob a couple of years ago. Bob was very proud of his community and served it well. He always impressed me with his concern for other people, especially the elderly. He was a cornerstone of the IGA in Aylmer. He loved to fish and hunt and we, along with some others had many memorable fishing trips together. Most of all Bob was just a fun guy to be with. He was honest, cheerful and a pleasure to be with. We will all miss him.

Our thoughts are with the Ker Family during this time of loss. I worked closely with Bob at the IGA from 1971 to 1975. He was a great guy to be around. I fondly remember some of our outings and also "Sunday Morning Hockey" at the old arena...even though some mornings we didn't feel like playing! Rest in Peace, Bob.
