Obituary of Albert Anckaert

Anckaert, Albert Leopold C. of Aylmer passed away at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Monday, July 22, 2013 in his 98th year. Beloved husband of the late Mary (Fieremans) Anckaert (2008). Albert will be greatly missed by his children Gertrude Anckaert, Chris Anckaert (Debra), Rita Ferguson (Roger), Loretta Thompson, Ben Anckaert (Bonnie). He was predeceased by two children Marc (1995) and Lieve (2004). He will be lovingly remembered by all of his grandchildren Eleanor Anckaert, Brendan Anckaert, Patrick Anckaert (Tahlia), Peter Anckaert and Emilie Anckaert, Kara Snelling (Chris), Natalie Ferguson (Brian), Jesse Thompson (Shannon), Evan Thompson (Katherine), Janice Thompson (Tyler), Kyle Thompson (Amber), Aaron Anckaert and Allison Anckaert. Also survived by 3 great grandchildren. Brother of Madeleine Vermeulen and predeceased by 5 sisters and one brother. Born in West Flanders, Belgium on September 8, 1915, son of the late August and Marie Louise (Ottevaere) Anckaert. Albert was a retired farmer and a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and a member of the Aylmer Legion, Br.# 81. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on 2-4 & 7-9 pm Wednesday. The funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, Aylmer on Thursday July 25, 2013 at 11:00 am. Prayers on Wednesday at 3:30 pm at the funeral home. Interment, Queen of Peace Cemetery. Donations to the Our Lady of Sorrows Church or the St.Thomas Elgin General Hospital Foundation appreciated.
