Brooks, H. Douglas a life long resident of Springfield passed away at Maple Manor, Tillsonburg on Thursday, March 14, 2013, in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of the late Violet (Nelson) Brooks(2010). Loving father of Brenda Gibbons of Straffordville, Debbie Scratch and Rob Overland of Tillsonburg, Brian Brooks and wife Sheila of Grand Bend, Kevin Brooks of Belmont . Loved by his grandchildren Jack, Brian, Marty, Michael, Nicholas, Carlie, Mitchell and great grandson Tyler. Dear brother of Manford Brooks. Predeceased by son Barry Brooks (1998), grand son Jason Hancox (1982), son-in-law Roy Gibbons (2011) and sisters, Jean Simpson, Stacia MacPherson, Phyllis Huston and Shirley Nelson. Born in Brownsville, Ontario on November 25,1930 son of the late Earl and Mary (Rice) Brooks. Doug was a retired farmer and a well known musician. He played the piano in bands for over 30 years as well as many solo engagements. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm where the funeral service will be held on Monday March 18 at 11:00 am. Interment, Springfield Cemetery.
