Obituary of Hans Reska

Reska, Hans Alfred (John) of RR 5, Aylmer passed away peacefully with his family by his side at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on January 31, 2013 in his 86th year. He will be greatly missed by his wife for 58 years, Erna (Winter) Reska, son John Reska and wife Johanna, grandchildren Melanie Knapp and husband Steve of St. Thomas and Julie Angelini and husband Dave of Colwood, B.C.. He is survived by his brother Carl and wife Christa, niece Elke Soltysiak and husband Gerd and sister-in-law Hilde Dietterle and husband Helmut in Germany and a number of nieces and nephews. Born in Dresden Germany on January 8, 1928 , he moved to Canada in 1952 to live in the Aylmer Area. Hans was proud to be a farmer and enjoyed growing tobacco for many years. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the German Canadian Club. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers Sunday at 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Monday, February 4, 2013 at 11:30 am.
