Obituary of Barbara Rice

Peacefully in her sleep at home on Wednesday January 16, 2008. Barbara Jean (Holborn) Rice of Aylmer in her 87th year. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by sons Paul and wife Joanne of Toronto, and Bob and wife Cindy of Aylmer, daughters Shelley and Pat of St.Thomas. Loved by her grandchildren Paul Jr., Alexis, Christina, Jennifer, Dustin, and Derrick. She was predeceased by her husband Jack (1975), parents George and Olive Holborn and brothers George, Richard and Joe, a niece Barbie and a sister-in-law Lois. Barb led a full and active life. She was an avid golfer, curler, gardener and dart player. She was an accomplished piano player and loved to entertain. She was a member of the St.Thomas Senior Centre Cloggers, a member of the Red Hats and the auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Aylmer. Barb was a past member of the Aylmer Kinnette Club. She grew up in the Sutton Area near Jackson Point. Barb graduated from Ontario Ladies College and worked in New York City before moving to Aylmer in 1950. She had a career in real estate but her true loves were music and being a tour bus escort. Friends may call at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm where the funeral service will be held on Saturday January 19, 2008 at 1:00 pm. Cremation will follow. Rev.
