Obituary of Duke Maracle
Maracle, Gregory Paul (DUKE) or to some (DUKEY) of Aylmer, like an angel in his sleep peacefully walked away in PEACE secure with his mother(Jean), sister (Wanda), sister(Velda) and dear friend Walter by his side at his residence, on Saturday evening January 19, 2013 in his 59 th year. He was the beloved son of Jean and the late Bob Maracle, also predeceased by his older brother, Glenn Joseph Maracle whose children are Patricia and sons Alex and Kyle, daughter Marcie and children Sarah and Charlie. His memory and kindness will forever linger in the hearts of all whom knew and loved him beginning with his oldest sister Linda Booy with her family: son-Michael, wife Carmen, children son Mac and daughter Anna, and son- Steven & spouse Sherry -children Kristen and Cale and niece Lindsey; older sister Sue and Pat Zimmer, children Jodie, Kari & spouse Jamie & niece Brooklyn; younger sister Wanda Maracle & partner Leon Scott; younger brother Shayne Maracle & wife Penny -children Amanda with sons Dante & Dakota, Sabrina & Steve with daughter Deana, Jamie and son Cody, Joey Maracle & partner Michelle with daughter Rachel, Dianna Lester; younger sister Velda Maracle & partner Walter Dolph - children Kristin and baby Benjamin, and son Cale Fisher; younger sister Brenda Buis & spouse Jim - children McKenzie &Trinity little baby Iris, Jessie, Quincey and Brittany; and youngest brother Shannon & spouse Donna - children Jillian and Dallas. He is also survived by numerous Uncles, Aunts, cousins and most of all FRIENDS. Greg was a special person who loved and cared for all his nieces & nephews. He loved to play pool, cards and walk. Greg was often seen on the 4 corners of the Aylmer intersection socializing with everyone who knew him. He believed and lived his life through his aboriginal ancestry and was a member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte. His kindness and gentle way lent to the person he had become throughout his journey on earth. A special thank you goes out to Dr. Anne Howe to the time she devoted to caring for Greg in his palliative care received in his home, and to Robin & Cindy (sisters who worked in Dr. Howe's office and dear friends) as well as Lucy in the lab, also to the ladies at the Aylmer Subway, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Peter's Pizza. Greg will be loved and missed by all those who knew him his memory will linger in our hearts forever. Visitation Tuesday 7-9 pm.
A Service will be held on Thursday, January 24 at 1:00 p.m. from H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home. Cremation - burial Aylmer Cemetery.
