Dear Sharon, it hardly seems nearly a year since Ron sent my birthday greetings on Jan. 29th at 12.27 am. As was Ron's style, it took a lot of research and contained his unique humour. Then only a few days later he left this world. I miss his e-mails and his strange and wonderful outlook on life. Even as we were political opposites and seldom agreed on issues we
remained good debating partners and friends. I am sure he is looking down on us favourably and waiting to be to-gether again to resume our debates.
Dear Sharon and Lee, my thoughts are with you on yhis anniversary of Ron's passing. Kindest Regards Bob.

Ron and I were best buddies while serving together in the army long ago. His favorite story was how he came to be thrown INTO a bar on December 31 of 1961 while we were vacationing in Paris. The local populace in Place Pigalle were becoming too boisterous in the opinion of the gendarmes, and since this was during the peak of OAS (Algerian Separatists) activities, they decided to clear the streets - hence the sudden transfer of Ron from the street to a cabaret. I can recall many other interesting memories of that particular vacation, but this is by far the most noteworthy, and I know that Ron delighted in retelling it.

I will miss Ron's wit and wisdom, and our good-natured bantering via emails. He was among my oldest and most cherished friends, dating back to 1957.
