"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints." Psalm 116:15 My deepest condolences to Mr. Gaston Degrieck's family. Although I didn't know him personally, I feel deep sorrow for Dan Varnaet, his precious wife and their sweet daughters. If Dan took after his grandfather in any way, I just know he was a fine man. I write with great confidence and security in the Lord and He alone, that my words cannot heal or comfort, but God's Word can and does for all those who believe. My prayers are for everyone's comfort at this time. Dan has become a dear friend of mine and I know that he is a fellow believer in Jesus Christ. I know that Gaston is in Heaven with his sweetheart if they both placed their simple faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross. It's wonderful to know that God is willing that no one should perish but have everlasting life. God offers this precious gift to us all. It's really very easy to gain salvation and eternal life, and the greatest thing to look forward to in this life. All it takes is simple faith alone in the finished work of Christ on the cross. He died on the cross for all of our sins. My prayer is that whoever reads this will make that decision to "Believe in Christ." God tells us in Acts 16:31 "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and Thou shalt be saved." God also tells us in Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God." Sin cannot enter into heaven- but we can have the righteousness of God just by placing our faith in Christ who was our substitute and took our place to pay the penalty of our sins when he hung on the cross and God the Father poured out all the sins of the world onto Him and judged them once and for all. Jesus who knew no sin, suffered much, and was made sin for us- so that we can enter into His presence as we take that step from time into eternity. For the believer in Christ- Death is God's Victory- and is the greatest journey one will ever take into everlasting life. A place of no more pain, no more sorrow, where all the old things have passed away. What a wonderful time Gaston is having being reunited with loved ones who have gone before and especially to see our Lord and Savior face to face. He is encapsulated in God's perfect love. Heaven must be like Christmas every day! I'm reminded of a passage that states. "Where, O' death, is your victory? Where, O' death, is your sting?" 1 Corinthians 15:55 There is no sting in death for the believer... just leaving the tent of this body to be united in Victory with our precious Savior... and to get a brand new body without corruption that will never grow old... Wow! "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son (Merry Christmas) so that whosoever believes in Him, will not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16 My love, thoughts and prayers to Gaston's Family and friends- May you all have a wonderful Christmas knowing that Heaven is only Faith in Christ away... and that Mr. Gaston Degrieck and his wife might be there:)

I wish to express my heart-felt condolences to Mr. Degrieck's daughter and her family. Although I never knew the gentleman personally, I have known his grandson, Dan, for some fifteen years; and if the grandson is any reflection of his grandfather, the world has lost a beautiful soul. Glen Scheetz
