I somehow missed hearing this. I know it is strange to leave condolence after such a long time but I have good memories of the McNiece family when we lived two houses west of you on South Street and I was a student at East Elgin. Later I enjoyed a friendship with the boys when I was teaching there and the boys were students. I always respected your father and I just needed to put something down here as a release of sadness in finding that he has left us.

Dave always had a smile, worked hard and had a zest for life. The stories about Dave are legion - here is a classic, told often by me over the years.
I joined Imperial Leaf as a 'Jr. Buyer' and was assigned to Dave as a stick puller for him and Bob 'bogie' Heslop. We were grading in the Strathroy area and Dave's favourite restaurant was back around Byron. Over to Dave addressing us stick pullers:
"Now boys, I'm going to take you to a restaurant that is off our territory. IF we have an accident there, YOU have to carry the wreck back to Strathroy!!"
