Beloved husband of the late Jantje (Smit) Bouwknegt (1966) and the late Wiebrigje ( Wilma) Bouwknegt (nee Wielsma) (2000). Dear father of Ralph Bouwknegt and wife Marie of Gowanstown and Gary Bouwknegt of Kitchener and the late Grace Bouwknegt (1997), Helen Hovius of St.Thomas. Theresa and husband John Poortinga of Belmont, John Hovius and wife Beth of Ancaster, Aafke and husband Wayne Hoogsteen of Kitchener, Sadie and husband Arnold Oldewening of London, Berend Hovius and wife Patricia of London and Freda McCallum of Dutton. Loved by 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Brother of Dirk and Hendrik Bouwknegt in the Netherlands. Predeceased by a grandson Ronald Bouwknegt (2003), brothers Willem and Frederik Bouwknegt and a sister Hendrika Driezen..
Born in Nijeveen, Drente, The Netherlands on January 22, 1916 son of the late Roleof and Roele Bouwknegt. Klaas came to Canada in 1949 and settled in Brooks, Alberta. He moved to Moorefield, Ontario in 1959 and Aylmer in 1968. He was a retired employee of St.Thomas Elgin General Hospital and a member of the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church. Klaas was a decorated member of the Dutch Resistance in Holland during World War II. Friends may call at the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church, 194 South St. W., Aylmer, 2-4 & 7-9 pm Friday where the funeral service will be held on Saturday November 10, 2007 at 11:00 am.
