Hooghiem, at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday October 17, 2007. John Hooghiem of St. Thomas in his 70 th year. Beloved husband of Levina (Van Dixhoorn) Hooghiem. Dear father of Bill Hooghiem and his wife Carlotta of Saskatoon, Sask., Kathy and her husband Doug James of Aylmer, Rob Hooghiem and his wife Tracy of Dutton. Loved by his grandchildren Lindsay Alexia, Matt, Melissa, Mallory and Andrew. Brother of George Hooghiem and his wife Corrie of Aylmer, Jack Hooghiem and his wife Corrie of Dunnville, Tom Hooghiem and friend Linda of St.Thomas, Gab Hooghiem and his wife Cher of Carleton Place and Sally and husband Dick Haayema of Aylmer. Predeceased by a sister Nellie Hertner (1989). Son-in-law of Cornelia VanNetten of Aylmer. Brother-in-law of Dirk Van Dixhoorn and wife Nancy of Salford, Andrew Van Dixhoorn and wife Thelma of London, John Van Dixhoorn and wife Connie of Brandon, Manitoba, and the late Adrian Van Dixhoorn Born in Anjum, Friesland, The Netherlands on July 29, 1938, son of the late Andries and Eva (Mosselman) Hooghiem. John retired from Canadian Timken in 2001 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church. Friends may call at the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church, 194 South St.W., Aylmer 2-4 and 7-9 pm Friday where the funeral service will be held on Saturday October 20, 2007 at 10:00 am .
