Obituary of Kenneth Shackelton

Shackelton, Kenneth of Springfield passed away peacefully at Elgin Manor, St. Thomas on Saturday, August 18, 2012 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Leone (Silverthorn) Shackelton. Loving father of Jessica Wilson of St. Thomas, Laura Strickler of Woodstock, Sharon Dean and husband Ross of St. Thomas, Brian Shackelton and wife Mary Jane of Springfield and Mark Shackelton and wife Susan of Aylmer. Also survived by a brother Les Shackelton of Springfield, and a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Carmen Shackelton and a sister Vera Parsons. Born in Springfield Ontario on August 17, 1923 son of the late John and Ruby (Abbott) Shackelton. Ken was a lifelong resident of Springfield and a devoted member of the Springfield Baptist Church. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Springfield Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 11:00 am.
