Sharpe, peacefully surrounded by his family at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Tuesday, June 12, 2007. Donald H. Sharpe of Aylmer in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Joan (Pettman) Sharpe of Aylmer and the late Rhoda (Wood) Sharpe(1974). Dear father of Bob Sharpe and wife Sharon of Tillsonburg, Michael Sharpe and wife Anne of Angus, Donna McCreary and partner Doug Bryant of London and step-father of Gordon Wood and wife Bernice of Brantford and Carol Cain and husband Randy of Paris. Loving grandfather of Michelle Nimmo(Dean), Jeff, Dan, Emma and Sarah Sharpe, Brandon McCreary(Bonnie), Amanda and Megan McCreary, Christina DeVries(James), Tim Wood(Natasha), Jason and Tyler Cain, Thomas, Lillia and Eric. Great-grandfather of Kylee, Brooke, Charlotte and Emily. Brother of Hilda Phillimore, Donna Clark and Kay MacEachren. Brother-in-law of Jean and Wray Holland, Frank and Joanne Pettman, Diane and David Hurley. He will be sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sisters Mary Wardell and Imogene Armstrong. Born in Tillsonburg on June 30, 1918 son of the late Hugh and Violet (Bartlett) Sharpe. Don managed Central Pipeline in Aylmer from from 1950 to 1972 then went to Superior Propane and became Vice-President until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of St. Paul's United Church. Don was recently honoured as a 60 year member of Vienna Masonic Lodge # 237 and a 50 year member of the Mocha Shrine Club, London. He was also a member of the Aylmer, Tillsonburg and St. Thomas Shrine Clubs. Friends may call at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Friday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at 11:00 am. Interment, St. Luke's Cemetery, Vienna. Rev. Donald Graham, officiating. In Lieu of flowers donations to St. Paul's United Church Buliding Fund or the Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children would be appreciated.
