My family lived in Aylmer from 1967-72. Mr. Munn was one of the first townsfolk we met. He always remembered us when we would make visits after we left Aylmer to move back to Detroit. That huge smile and shouts of joy at seeing us, when remembered, still feel like the warm hugs we'd get from him. I remember the smells of the store and the excitement to see just what was there on the shelves, just for me. See, he made each of us feel uniquely special, like we were the only one in the focus of attention. His generosity returned to Detroit with us after one visit when he gifted one of his old, huge apothecary jars to a pharmacist our mom worked for. It was cherished, indeed. Thank you for sharing him with us, all you family members! He is part of the tapestry of Aylmer I most easily remember! Always with a smile, of course.

I was greatly saddened to hear of the passing of "Uncle Ross". I have fond child-hood memories of visits to Alymer and getting candy from his store, playing games in his backyard and marveling at the antiques in his house. He was a most warm and cheerful fellow.

I remember Ross at his store when we were kids in the 60's and early 70's. Ross always had a joke for us when we dropped in (I think daily) for a popsicle or chocolate bar or something. His jokes were usually corny! He had a large influence on me and how I relate to people today. God Bless Ross Munn - he will be missed! Don Hunt

Although it has been many years since I last saw "Uncle Ross" I will always remember him as a kind, jolly man who had a ready smile for me and my brothers and sister when we were little. His cards and letters to my Mother were always so full of interesting news and such a delight to read. He will be certainly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

I haven't lived in Aylmer since '81 but I went to Davenport school and East Elgin Secondary School from 73-79. I used to live on Oak Street, a block from Mr. Munn's store. I remember how kind he was to this (then) quiet kid who walked to his store many, many times. Some days Mr. Munn was the only kind, smiling face that greeted me. For that, I am ever grateful. I want his family to know what a special man he was. Sincerely sympathy.

My husband and I wish to send our deepest sympathy to Ross's nephews and their families and to Kevin Morell and his family. I first met Ross in 1946 when he came to Aylmer to work and to board with my father's sisters, Miss Anne Barnecott and Mrs. Frances Gaylord in their home on John St. My sister Alice (known in the family as Joey)and I and our parents visited regularly with the family in Aylmer all growing up years. Joey usually spent our Easter holidays and some of our summer holidays with the "Aunties" so Ross was welcomed as another family member. He lived with the Aunties and became like a son, looking after them until their deaths. When our children were growing up we visited in Aylmer from time to time and Uncle Ross was a great favourite. Ross was an usher at our wedding in July of 1952. We have many, many happy memories of Ross as Doug and I tried to visit him at least once a year and I will note that Ross, Doug and I share the grave stone in Aylmer Cemetery - Ross on one side, Doug and I on the other. We are sorry we are unable to attend the funeral but age and health issues make it out of the question. We hope that all of you will find comfort in your memories of Ross and our thoughts will be with you on Thursday.

I have happy childhood memories of walking or riding my bike to Munn's to pick up grocery items for my Mom and of course, some penny candy for me! In the summer, we always stopped for a treat on the way home from the pool. Mr.Munn knew all the kids by name (and their parents) and was always so cheerful and friendly. I remember one time when I forgot what I was supposed to be getting for my mother - Mr.Munn actually phoned her to ask, so that I wouldn't go home empty handed! Ross Munn is one of the reasons that it was so nice to grow up in a small town like Aylmer. My sympathy to his family and friends.

Dear Friends and Family of Ross Munn: I just got word today March 21, that Ross has gone to heaven, and I know hes an angel. There are thosand, hundreds of us who each could share a special memory about Ross. When I came to Aylmer in 1966 with my parents late Denby and Yvonne Breen, I met many many people but Uncle Ross as he was known to alot us was very special. Throughou years going to his store, not just buying candy, but talking to his clerks Mrs.Jacques, Mrs. Minor, memories, meeting Ross many nephews over years. So many things I could say about Ross a friend, a warm kind human being who never said nothing bad about no one, his smile, the glow even after many many of us grew older we stil time to time kept in touch with him. Remember his house on Dingle Stret, his antiques. I wish I could be there at his funeral join in am sure most Aylmer will, but am in Saint John, New Brunswick. I wil be there in sprirt. Thank you Lord for Ross Munn, I shed a tear today of knowing one of the GREATEST MEN in history in my opinion, he mean;t alot to m,e and others. God Blesss-don breen

Mr. Munn's family, indeed the town of Aylmer, has lost a treasure. Being a kid in Aylmer was even more fun having those places to visit where you always felt special. Munn's was one of those places. Our family came to Aylmer in the late 60's and moved away in the early 70's. When I moved back to town years later, Mr. Munn remembered me on sight. With always a great story to tell and always a warm welcome, he still made a now older 'kid' feel special. Mr. Munn will certainly be missed. My condolences to his family and dear friends.
